What's New
We keep adding converters and improving the ones we already have. Here is what changed recently, newest first. If you spot something wrong, please tell us.
August 2026
QR code generator
- Added a QR code generator for URLs and plain text, Wi-Fi networks, and contact cards (vCard).
- Every code is static, generated entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded and no scans are tracked.
- Download your code as PNG for quick sharing or SVG for print at any size.
July 2026
Unit converter
- Added a Volume converter covering metric, US and imperial measures, from millilitres to gallons. It also explains why a US gallon and a British gallon are not the same size.
- Added a Mass converter from micrograms to tonnes, including the troy ounce used for precious metals and the carat used for gemstones.
- Added Temperature and Power converters that show every step of the calculation, not just the answer.
- Conversions now show a shorter, one step working whenever a familiar constant links the two units, for example 1 inch = 2.54 cm, instead of always passing through the base unit.
- Every conversion now has a Good to know panel with the history and the sources behind each unit.
- The step by step working now reads like real scientific notation: numbers are shown to a sensible precision, very large or very small values switch to powers of ten (like 1 × 109), and the decimals control now only rounds the final answer while every step keeps its full precision.
Accuracy and trust
- Added an automatic check that compares every conversion against known reference values before it goes live, so a wrong number cannot slip through unnoticed.
- Added a short note under each result asking you to confirm anything important against another source, because a unit slip can have real consequences.
